Heather & Derek | Clintonville OH Wedding
You may remember Derek & Heather from their engagement session. As I said then, they are such a cool couple. I just LOVE them. Here is a recap of their Clintonville OH wedding.
I got to hang with the girls while they did hair and makeup at Heather & Derek's apartment, and get detail photos. I even got to meet Nigel, their kitty. He was super interested in what I was doing with Heather's dress.
Once everyone was ready, we met in Whetstone Park of Roses for the first look. It was incredibly sweet, and even though Derek tried to look cool, I could tell Heather melted his heart. Meanwhile everyone was actually melting since it was (probably) the last 90 degree weekend we will have here in Columbus, OH. We stayed in the shade and got some great bridal party pictures and ring bearer, Michiah stole the show, what a cutie!!
I sent the bridal party on to the venue to cool off and hydrate, while I spent some quality time with my bride and groom getting those really personal, intimate moments between them that you don't see when the whole group is around to distract, make them laugh etc.
Soon enough it was time for Heather's father to walk her down the aisle and give her away. The ceremony was joyful and lighthearted under the gazebo in the gardens of the Clintonville Women's Club. After they exchanged vows and rings, the newlyweds walked off together to their happily ever after!
Cocktail hour immediately followed in the ballroom of the Women's Club and dinner was accompanied by toasts from the best man, maid of honor, and Heather's mom. They had such nice (and some funny) things to say about Heather and Derek. I always love to hear what people have to say about the couple, how they found each other, and imagine what brought all of us to this occasion.
It wasn't long after dinner that Mr. & Mrs. Young had their first dance, and once the dance floor was open, their guests filled the space, and the drinks were flowing!
While the ladies broke it down on the dance floor, the gentlemen enjoyed cigars on the patio. I personally enjoyed a chocolate covered pretzel AND a cupcake!
I hope you have a wonderful time on your honeymoon, and I wish you both married bliss!
Congratulations Derek & Heather!!
