Emily + Dylan's Heritage Trail engagement session in Hilliard was so adorable...and I didn't even plan it that way, in fact I pretty much had a very different vision than what we ended up with.
We met with these two just WEEKS before their October wedding and knowing how much we love to get to know our couples, their style, and help them to know us, I definitely wanted them to have an engagement session. So here we were just two weeks ahead of their wedding, in fact Dylan had already been to Vegas for his bachelor party and Emily was going to her bachelorette party that night!
For every engagement session, Tim and I visit a few days before to scout out perfect spots, judge the sunset and start thinking about a posing flow. So it is fair to say we were prepared when we arrived...but we didn't account for...rain. It was just sprinkling but it was enough to show on their light colored clothing, and to mess up Emily's hair so I gave them my big umbrella, which I don't really consider photo-worthy and we headed for the covered bridge, which was one of the spots on my plan, but not the only one. As the rain lessened we would try to venture out from under the bridge and then it would start raining heavier, as if the skies were playing a game with us. After getting as many poses as possible under that bridge, I decided enough was enough, we were getting out there even if it meant using my umbrella. So we ventured out and you know what? those were some of my favorite shots!
Dylan and Emily were so playful with each other and made for some really sweet moments that made my job SO easy! They also have a very passionate side that brought another element or layer to this session.
Emily + Dylan we cannot wait to celebrate your day of marriage with you, we know it will be full of smiles and kisses, just like this session, but amplified!
