Contemporary Wedding at The Grand Event Center in Grandview, Ohio | Columbus Wedding Photographers

Gina + Jacob's contemporary wedding at The Grand Event Center in Grandview Ohio was such a fun day full of celebration and we couldn't have imagined a better group of bridal party members for them.

We started the day each of us with one of them. Kristin started the day with Gina during hair and makeup with her bridal party members at Hotel LeVeque, in downtown Columbus and Tim began his day with Jacob and his bridal party members at Goodfellows Tonsorial Parlor in German Village. They treated the girls to hair and makeup and the guys to a shave and hot towel before the days’ events got started.

This bridal party was a mix of guys and girls on both sides, so some of them started out the day with either Gina or Jacob and then they switched so everyone had a chance to spend the morning with both the bride and groom.

Once everyone was dressed and ready, Jacob and his side came to meet up with us at LeVeque, where Gina and Jacob were able to share a private intimate first look and ease their nerves. We love these moments because it is so sweet and there is this sense of peace that falls over them because they are with the person they love!

While we photographed their first look, the bridal party members waited outside the main entrance to the hotel. Then Gina and Jacob made a grand exit from the hotel to debut themselves as bride and groom to their friends!!

We all hopped on the party bus and headed to the Scioto Mile for their formal photos. Even though the day had started out chilly and rainy, it was now clear skies, super sunny and HOT. We of course didn’t want to keep them in the sun too long, but there was only a sliver of shade and we used it to the max.

Between photo locations, the party bus driver was kind enough to make a drink run. 3 Bridal party members got off the bus, and each one came back with two handfuls of either White Claw, Truly, or Hard Ciders so there was plenty to go around.

We then headed to the short north to get the middle of the road photo for these two. Boy was that fun- Blocking traffic with 16 people. Kristin standing in the middle of High St., and the party bus blocking the side street from any turning traffic. But, it was a must-have for our bride and we love to make those dreams come true for our couples.

By this time the bridal party was practically melting so we took the party bus back to LeVeque for a few more indoor photos so they could cool down and get touched up before heading over to the Grand Event Center for the ceremony. These might be our favorite photos of the day since we didn't have to worry about rain, heat, sun, or squinting.

We headed over to the Grand Event Center and shortly after arriving the ceremony began. But, not before the bridal party erected a trellis to frame Gina and Jacob as they said their vows. That was so fun to watch. And it added a nice personal touch to their decor.

Both Gina and Jacob wrote their own vows, which was sweet, touching and SO personal. In fact, both of them gave a shout to Chicken Wings. That, friends, is how you know you're marrying your soul mate if they have the same sense of what is important enough to include in your vows. Then they exchanged rings and sealed the deal with a kiss, and we swear, we have NEVER heard such a crowd cheer when two people were announced We knew right then and there it was going to be a FUN night.

During cocktail hour, guests enjoyed an open bar, sushi, bacon-wrapped pork belly, hummus and veggies, and plenty of other hors d’oeuvres. We took this time to photograph the new Mr & Mrs. Canary with their families, and the reception space and details. And as a surprise to us, they were still in the mood to do a few 'just married' photos, so we snuck outside to have a few moments with just us.

They didn't keep their guests waiting too long before being announced into the reception. A short and sweet welcome from Gina's father and then the delicious dinner was served. While the guests dined, the couple enjoyed being toasted by their best woman, best man, man of honor, and matron of honor. And of course, they had everyone laughing!

Before opening the dance floor and getting the party started, Mr & Mrs. Canary enjoyed the first dance, then each of them danced with their parents, sliced their cake, and tossed both the bouquet and garter.

As soon as the DJ invited the guests to party, they were out of their seats, and the dancefloor was full the rest of the night.

Gina and Jacob, your friends and family were certainly there to celebrate your marriage with you, and you could just tell they were so happy to support your new union. We're very grateful you chose us to capture your love and joy on your wedding day. We hope you're relaxing on your mini-moon and spending quality time together. Enjoy this sneak peek while we work on the rest of your gallery.
