Derek and Brittany tied the knot on the most gorgeous July day, and there were SO many smiles! You could just tell their families' and their bridal party were just so happy for them and everyone was there to support them, usher them into a beautiful marriage, and celebrate!
We started the day with them (iced americanos in hand) at their families' homes while they were getting ready. Everything was so relaxed and casual, no stress. Then we headed to Jeffrey Mansion in Bexley so Brittany could have a first look with her father, and then with Derek. Truly beautiful moments to be a part of! We were able to do a portion of Brittany and Derek's couple's portraits there as well, before moving on to the church for their ceremony.
Their ceremony was at St. Christopher Parish in Grandview, a stunning sanctuary with some really cool views that made documenting their vows so easy and creative! In fact... photographers typically aren't allowed in the balcony where the organist plays, but Tim charmed them into allowing both of us (and our new videographer friends) up there during the ceremony.
Their bridal party photos and the remaining couples pictures were taken on the Main St. Bridge overlooking the Scioto Mile, downtown Columbus. We had such fun, despite the sun being high in the sky and in everyone's eyes. It is HARD to find shade down there, but somehow we found a sliver. These are some of our favorite photos EVER (I'm sure you could guess- we love Columbus)
To cap the day, we headed to the Grand Event Center in Grandview for the reception. We hadn't yet been in this new-ish venue, and now that we have, we love it! The lighting, and mirrors, and architecture are so modern. Brittany and Derek had their cocktail hour on the terrace in the most perfect weather. And because they had left enough time for photos in their timeline, they were actually able to enjoy their cocktail hour and hors d'oeuvres with their guests.
They spent the rest of the evening celebrating on the dance floor and in the photo booth, and eating their personalized cookies.
We we're so happy to be a part of your wedding day, and we wish you the absolute best!
