Toni and Erin said their vows during their outdoor ceremony on a sunny April day. We we're so happy to be a part of their wedding and document all their memories. Of course we could never choose a favorite couple or favorite client, these two came very close!! We loved their playful relationship and how affectionate they are- it made it super easy to photograph them!
Leading up to their wedding, as you might assume in mid April, it had been cold and rainy. In fact, at our venue visit, Kristin had a pep talk with the trees, hoping they'd bloom. We were also a little worried about the grass being mushy-- but that was not a concern when we woke up the morning of their Sunday wedding. The sun was shining it was beautiful and the day was as close to perfect as you could hope for.
When we arrived, everyone was in such a good mood (a hallmark of a good wedding) and hanging out, having a good time, no worries, no stress. Toni and Erin each had a separate "getting ready" room which we're both super cool. Erin had a lounge with a TV, complete with all the classic wedding movies, a couch, mirrors, vanity, and changing room. Toni definitely got the better end of the deal though, she had the loft with TV, mini fridge, mirrors, fireplace and couches. Once everyone was ready, we did a few posed photos indoors so as not to be seen by arriving guests, and then it was ceremony time.
Erin and Toni each had brideswomen and bridesmen on their sides that alternated walking down the aisle. Then Toni was escorted to the altar by her father, followed by Erin and her father. It was such a beautiful moment! During the ceremony the two of them held hands, laughed and smiled as they said their vows, exchanged rings and had a special reading and musical performance.
During their cocktail hour, we did their family, bridal party and couples photos on the lawn of the venue complete with a fountain in the distance. We did have some worries about the freeway running by the venue- but you can see for yourself, the photos are stunning! It's usually at this time that our couples let loose, they can breathe and have fun. In most cases their bridal party catches on and can relax too. In this case- they got silly! It was so fun to see them laugh and having fun with each other.
Dinner was as you might assume, the bar was open, there was food (super yummy food) and lots of talking and laughter. There were a few toasts to the new happy couple, some that brought laughs, and some that brought tears, but they we're all very sweet and uplifting. The one piece of this story I'm building that sets Toni + Erin's reception apart is that each table had lego's so that their guests could "brick themselves". It was so fun!! Guests ran from table to table for pieces and colors which was a great way to interact, and we loved seeing what they built. As the drinks continued to flow, some of the sculptures took a turn toward...abstract art, which was twice as entertaining.
Their cake was also adorned with Lego stairs leading up the back, and a Lego couple cake topper built by the brides themselves.
After the two cut their cake, we watched for a sunset over the pond so that we could steal the Mrs' away for a few minutes. This was everything we could have ever hoped for and we hope that Toni + Erin feel the same way.
Of course no party is complete without dancing and this dance floor did not disappoint. Words can't even describe some of the moments... just see for yourself.
Have a look back at Toni and Erin's Antrim Park fall engagement session too! Leave them some comments below, well wishes, and happy thoughts!
