Sweet Nationwide Hotel + Conference Center wedding in Lewis Center Ohio | Wedding Photography Columbus

Sara + Stephen's Nationwide Hotel + Conference Center wedding in Lewis Center Ohio was so sweet and we are so grateful we were able to capture it for them! We started the day with them in the hotel in the hospitality suite where the ladies did hair and makeup, and Sara got into her beautiful gown. The gentlemen were upstairs in the hotel getting ready as well.

As tradition would have it, Sara + Stephen didn't want to do a first look, they wanted to wait until the aisle to see one another. We think that is so romantic, but we also know how it can ease couples' nerves to check in with one another so we worked out a no-look where they each stood on one side of a wall with their backs to one another, holding hands and they even shared in a pre-wedding prayer. Even we we're crying behind the lens.

Just as it has, for every other wedding so far this year, it rained. We're pretty used to it by now, but luckily the Nationwide venue has really beautiful indoor spaces for portraits. And, even though they had to move their ceremony inside from the garden to the ballroom, it was just as special and perfect! Sara and her father walked down the aisle to a classic Brass Quintet, which was a sweet nod to Sara + Stephen's musical lives together. It was definitely an emotional exchange of vows and a beautiful unity ceremony.

After their ceremony it had quit raining. Once we had captured their family formals, we took the bridal party outside for a few photos with everyone before whisking the newlyweds away for their portraits! Perhaps we've said this before, the couples portrait time is our favorite part of the day! This is where we really shine, not to mention the bride and groom get some quite together time to kiss and snuggle.

Once back inside, their reception began with a welcome by Sara's father, and prayer by their officiant, dinner was served and their bridal party toasted to them with very nice speeches. After dinner, they cut their cake (no smashing!) and they shared in a first dance as well as Stephen danced with his mother, and Sara with her father. During the dance party though, they along with many of their guests participated in a BGSU drum cadence, which was not only fun to watch, but a joy to photograph. It was such a fun personal touch! We even saw Stephen's mom join in which means she must be an alumni!

We just have to say, their friends, family, and guests were all SO nice to us the entire day, so cooperative and complimentary. And if they were that nice to us, we can only imagine how they love on Stephen and Sara! Those are the people you want to be surrounded by on the happiest day of your lives, and we're so happy that they had that opportunity.

To Mr. & Mrs. Novak, thank you, thank you for trusting us to capture your wedding day. We are so happy for you two and wish you the very best marriage. We know you are on your honeymoon right now, but we hope this sneak peek is a pleasant surprise!!
