Intimate Renaissance Westerville Ballroom Wedding | Wedding Photographers Columbus
Alexus and Jimmie's intimate Renaissance Westerville ballroom wedding was certainly an emotional one. After 10 years together, the two tied the knot in front of 90 of their nearest and dearest friends and family.
We began the day with them at the new Renaissance hotel in Westerville as they got ready for their celebration. The vibe was lighthearted, peaceful and calm. It quickly became clear to us that everyone was so supportive of Jimmie and Alexus finally saying "I do", and they chose their wedding party members wisely it seems. Everyone was very helpful and excited for them.
Alexus and Jimmie chose not to see each other before the ceremony, so before they walked down the aisle, we took (separately of course!) Jimmie with his two best men, and Alexus with her two maids of honor outside for portraits and we were able to capture solo portraits as well. Once each of them were safely tucked away in hiding, we were able to capture the details of the ballroom space, chat with their families and get to know some of their guests. As we already could have guessed, everyone was bursting with joy.
This was certainly one of the most emotional ceremonies we've photographed this year. As the high school sweethearts read their personal vows, there were sniffles and tears throughout the room. Even the groom wiped tears away. It was so romantic! We loved that their vows were so personal and each of them spoke their minds, recounting how they met, and the ten years that have passed since. They then exchanged rings and sealed the deal with a kiss before then dancing back down the aisle!
During cocktail hour, guests mingled in the hotel, while hors d'oeuvres were passed, and the liquor was flowing. At this time we photographed the new Mr. & Mrs. Brown along the path and pond that graces the hotel property. It was so stunning, the sun was glowing through the trees and we couldn't have asked for better weather. We were able to get so many authentic, emotional, amazing photos with them, and still get them back in time to enjoy a cocktail and small plates with their guests before the formal evening events began.
As they entered their reception, introduced for the first time as Mr & Mrs, they enjoyed a first dance as husband and wife, followed by an sentimental mother son dance, and a smooth father daughter dance. Both were very heartwarming.
Just before dinner was served to their guests, they were blessed by a prayer, and shortly after, a few very nice toasts from their wedding party and the brides father. After dinner, Alexus and Jimmie cut their cake and sweetly fed it to one another, no smashing here! And, when it came time to open the dance floor, everyone flooded from their seats to get the party started! The DJ kept the party going well into the night and it seemed from our perspective, everyone had such an fun, amazing time.
Alexus and Jimmie we hope you're having an amazing time on your well deserved vacation and getting the rest and relaxation you need! We're so happy for you and wish a lifetime of happy marriage!
